Susquenita students chose this N5C caboose from the Reading Yards in July, 1989, with the help of Mr. Thomas Campbell. |

On February 14, 1990, the caboose was brought to Susquenita and taken off the tracks at mile marker 116 near Duncannon Pennsylvania. |

In 1992, the caboose was moved to Susquenita's newly built middle school where it was lifted by cranes into a specially designed courtyard. |

The caboose was primed for preservation in 1995. |

The caboose's exterior was restored to its original PRR red. The inside now houses artifacts and railroad history. The caboose was formally dedicated on May 18, 1998. |
